You may have heard Nabu Casa’s announcement of a non-conforming part in the ZBT-1 USB device. As a result, Nabu Casa is offering a ZBT-1 replacement program for any affected owners. The replacement program is for ZBT-1 branded devices only. Home Assistant SkyConnect devices are not affected.
Home Assistant SkyConnect (left) are not affected. Only ZBT-1 (right) devices ordered before October 1st are affected and eligible for replacement.
If you want to take advantage of the replacement program, please follow the instructions below so that we can arrange a replacement device to be shipped to you at no cost. The only qualification required to take part in the program is that you return your original ZBT-1 device to us, again, at no charge to you.
How to Participate
Check Eligibility
Device must have been purchased from our store before October 1st
Only Home Assistant Connect ZBT-1 devices are affected, SkyConnect devices are not affected and not eligible for replacement.
Create a Ticket - using the chat widget in the corner, create a "Home Assistant ZBT-1 Replacement" ticket. Provide your order number, current address, and a photo of your ZBT-1 device.
Return - Once we receive your ticket, we will email you a pre-paid return label. You only need to return the blue USB device, there is no need to send back other packaging or accessories.
Replace - Once we receive your return, we will send you a replacement device free of charge.
Because the effect of the non-conforming part in the ZBT-1 is only seen in certain setups, Nabu Casa is also offering the replacement program for 60 months for users who are currently using their ZBT-1 with no problems or issues and are unsure when they may change their setup in future. The 60-month period gives you peace of mind that you can replace your affected ZBT-1 device free of charge at any time within the next 60 month period.

UPDATE 1: Please keep in mind that this issue only occurs in certain setups and is likely to never cause any issues for most users. There is no need to rush to replace devices that are functioning properly, as you are guaranteed a replacement if something does happen within the next five years.
If you do feel the need to have your ZBT-1 replaced but don't want to bring your Zigbee network down during the process, we are offering an Advanced Replacement program so that you can receive a replacement without bringing down your Zigbee network. To participate, first save your payment info with us, then file a ticket using the instructions above as usual. Be sure to note that you have saved your information so that we know to ship out your replacement.
We will then place a hold on your card and send a replacement and return label to you.
